The Ministry of Music and Worship are very important  at First Baptist Church. As Christians we love to use all types of music in praise to God. That is the reason that we have music groups for all ages. It is also why our three morning worship services have different types of music.
Worship is more than music, but music is an important part of worship. Again we seek to use all ages in our worship. The most important group in the worship experience is the entire congregation.
The main Worship Choir is the PraiSingers. This outstanding choir sings each Sunday morning at the 9:00 and 10:30 am services as the first element. They are the major core for the three main productions at Christmas and Easter. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 6:45 - 8:15 pm in the choir loft of the Worship Center.

Hallelujah Chorus - For adults 50 and up. This choir rehearses every Thursday morning 10:00 - 10:50 am in Room 820. They sing one Sunday a month at both services.

Children’s Choir for 1st through 6th Graders under the leadership of Shelly Telles and her helpers. Rehearses on Wednesdays, from 7:00 to 8:15 pm. Children’s Choir meet in Room 306.

Instrumental and Vocal ensembles are available. Our instrumental ensemble accompanies worship in the 9:00 and 10:30 am service. Rehearsals vary.  We use solos, duets, trios, etc. for our 9:00 am and 10:30 am services. We use experienced people for these. Our Handbell Choir, the PraisRinger’s are an important part of the Music Department. They rehearse on Tuesday nights from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the Worship Center. Teri Laing is the director. They play for special seasons and on Sundays as they have pieces ready.
